General Discussion / Regular pump-outs
« Last post by robertsmith on March 22, 2018, 03:06:00 AM »
Regular pump-outs are important to maintain the health bacteria in your septic tank. Plan ahead for preventative maintenance-Don’t wait for a major problem to occur. Healthy bacteria prefer warm weather. Emptying a septic tank in the winter may not allow enough time for decomposition to begin before the winter’s coldest temperature sets in. Unless you’re having an emergency or need the septic tank to be pumped for a real estate transaction. It is best to wait for warmer weather. (Your septic contractor will thank you for not having to service the tank when it is 12 degrees out and surrounding soil is frozen)

Keep all water flow away from your septic system-This includes gutter drain run-off, sump pump discharge. Keep all water softener discharge out of your septic system. If this is allowed to discharge into your septic system you just sent your septic system a death notice. Be prepared for early failure of your system. Plow snow away from your septic system components. And keep salt away as well. Keep the area free & clean of any impervious items.(such as patios or hardscaping) Only grass should be on top of your septic system components including the septic tank.

There are so many factors to consider when choosing where to hold your wedding reception and, if even one doesn’t suit your wedding requirements, it’s usually enough to have that reception centre, garden or church hall struck off the list.

The most important factor is is the wedding venue is avalible or not.checking a venue that is the right size for your festivities is essential when planning your wedding and reception. The last thing you want to do is have your guest sitting cheek to jowl because your venue was too small for the group you are inviting.
Pay special attention to the capacity of any venue you are looking at before booking and ensure that it has space for the activities you’re planning on holding. There are countless venues to choose from for your wedding, and some will be more appealing. However, the reality is not every venue will fit within your budget.
Determine what you can afford per head before contacting venues as this will avoid the frustrations of falling in love with a wedding venue you simply cannot afford.

General Discussion / Women's Self Defense and Self Protection
« Last post by robertsmith on March 21, 2018, 05:33:22 AM »
Self defense and self protection are an important priority for women. The most common crime to happen to a woman is rape, but it is more about a feeling of dominance from one person over another rather than actual sex. According to statistics, the majority of rapes are perpetrated by men who women know. Assault on women is also a common crime because assailants assume women will be more passive and not fight back; this has to do with stereotypes of women. The best way for women to fight back against crime is to prevent it from happening by avoiding being alone or being in badly lit areas. However, getting into such situations is sometimes inevitable.

General Discussion / What is Celiac Disease?
« Last post by robertsmith on March 20, 2018, 12:32:20 PM »
Celiac disease is a digestive condition in which the lining of the small intestine is damaged or destroyed and cannot normally absorb nutrients into the bloodstream. This damage is produced by an autoimmune response to eating certain types of grain protein called gluten. Found primarily in breads, pastas, and cereals, gluten is also an ingredient in many processed foods, such as soy sauce, canned soups, and ketchup. While most alcoholic beverages are gluten-free, beer must be avoided.

General Discussion / Stretching
« Last post by robertsmith on March 20, 2018, 10:32:26 AM »
Stretching prepares the body for exercise, increases your range of motion and prevents muscle imbalances that can lead to serious injury. The American Council on Exercise advises performing a light five minute cardiovascular warm-up before stretching. This increases blood flow to the muscles, thus increasing muscular elasticity and preventing injury from stretching the muscles too far. If you are coming off an injury and experience decreased range of motion, talk to a doctor to ensure the injury is fully healed before starting a stretching routine.

General Discussion / Invisalign
« Last post by robertsmith on March 20, 2018, 02:36:26 AM »
Invisalign is the one of the newest available to patients when it comes to straightening the teeth. Invisalign works by providing the patient with a series of clear liners, not unlike the plastic retainers provided to those who have finished a traditional braces regimen, or like mouth guards that athletes wear. These aligner trays can be put in and removed—which for most patients, is a huge benefit. The patient puts in one aligner, lets it move the teeth to the correct position, and then switches to the next aligner. The ability to take it out, eat, brush teeth, and thoroughly clean the trays, are all giant advantages over a traditional braces system.
