Chinese herbs- safe and healing or unsafe

A compadre of mine is demanding to get me to take a chinese herbal.

In fact he calls it a "formula"

I'm not sure- I've heard some things about them being dangerous. Have you guys tried them?

Depends on what the herbs promise to do such as Gingko.
