Obama  was a few hours ago, sworn in as the 44th president of the US .An achievement that was not conceivable about two years ago. Not conceivable, because many people including me, never thought that it would happen in our live time. Thanks to all the people that made us a believer!!
The victory of Barack  Obama as the US president    is a victory for all  progressive  elements  In  the society. These progressive includes   young, old, and all races that live in the four corners of this nation.
Barack  Obama  is  able to  achieve this monumental task  becoming the leader of the U S , because of determinations , hard work and  the ability to believe that all things are possible!
However, Obama stands on the soldiers of   those who came before him. Those who shed their blood and tears in the struggles. He stands on the soldiers  of slaves that worked from sun rise till sun set without being paid a penny! Barack   stands on the soldiers of  those who are nameless, faceless,  and yet suffered  the brutal injustices of the past. This is why his victory is so historic and  monumental!
Many have linked the victory of Obama as a realization of   Dr.King’s dream And that his victorious election has finally brought us to the promised land. Well, I do not think the promised land has been reached ! The psychological moral  boost of Obama’s victory  to millions of young African American across the nation is huge, and for them, to be able to see someone that looks like them in the oval office is enormous. Hope each and every single   brothers and sisters that  sees this positive turn in American political history will also apply a positive turn in their lives.Let’s make the brother proud in the white house!!
To those who may not know this, things are not going to be easy for a while! He is been left with a lot of mess to straighten out. But let us all pray that God be with him and guide him through the difficult tasks ahead. Eight years of mess cannot be clear up in few months. Is wonderful!!!!
Even though this is a magnificent  historical  moment, I see it as a fulfillment of  part of the dream. We must continue to educate our young ones about the sacrifices of the past and the unfulfilled dreams of  many of our brothers and sisters that are incarcerated in the vast prison walls of this nation, some rightly and some wrongly. We must continue the re-education of ignorant minds that would rather see confusions than unity. Like millions of people around the world, I wish Obama  the best of luck and God’s guidance as he embarks on the monumental  tasks ahead.
